The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is honouring MAXON’s lead developer and designer, Per-Anders Edwards, with a Technical Achievement Academy Award at this year’s Scientific and Technical Awards Presentation.
Edwards is the software architect behind the legendary motion graphics workflow in Cinema 4D, the company’s professional 3D software application. The award is being bestowed for his contribution to the initial design and development of the MoGraph toolset that provides a fast and intuitive workflow for motion designers to create animated 3D graphics.
MAXON first introduced the MoGraph procedural modelling and animation module in Cinema 4D in 2006. It continues to be utilised by VFX and animation professionals worldwide for its essential role in 3D animation and modelling on some of the most highly acclaimed movies of all time. Blade Runner 2049, Avengers: Infinity War, Ready Player One, and Black Panther are just a few of the recent titles that have relied on MoGraph’s intuitive workflow.
